This exhaust system has been constructed using lightweight titanium for the end cap, muffler bracket, and muffler outer sleeve, and stainless steel for the link pipe and the inner structure of the muffler, providing a weight saving of 47.4% (2.4 kg) compared to the standard stock exhaust. A carbon-fibre heatshield on the link pipe has been designed to protect riders and gear.
The muffler design with its specially profiled surface adds additional strength for greater durability, allied to a sporty look as seen on rally-raid motorcycles. Performance gains in power of 2.6 kW (3.6 hp) at 6,800 rpm and torque increases of 3.6 Nm at 6,800 rpm have been recorded when compared to the standard stock exhaust system and tested on the Akrapovič in-house dyno. A deep and sporty sound is delivered from the twin-cylinder engine.
The plug-and-play installation means no remapping is required. The exhaust is EC/ECE type approved and Euro 5+ compliant. It is compatible with stock panniers and finished with an Akrapovič logo sticker on the muffler.
